We find ourselves in unprecedented times. We want to make sure that all our families know that we stand together. City SC San Marcos remains a safe place for all kids to learn and play the sport we all love. We are also staying committed to staying safe when we return to play. Our plan is to have a full season but we will need your help. This year we will need more support from everyone to stay safe.
We also remain very optimistic and are proceeding full speed ahead on playing our full Fall-2020 season.
For your COVID-19 concerns, we continue to follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the California Department of Public Health, the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer, and the City of San Marcos. We are actively working on our return to play plan and our competitive teams are already allowed to practice. All the details for our practices and game days will be released as the season draws nearer.
In the unlikely event that we will not be able to start our Fall season, refunds will be issued.
Until we can make it back on the fields, let’s all do our part to stay in touch. All our board members are an email away and you can reach out to us through our website (https://www.smys.org/smys-bod), Facebook and Instagram.
Please stay safe, stay positive and stay active with your player.
We will get through this together.
Registration rates are now $150 for the lower division (kids born from 2013 - 2016) and $170 for the upper divisions (kids born between 2002 and 2012).
The Fall Season includes:

An exciting day has arrived!
As you all know San Marcos Youth Soccer was created to provide a program focused on recreational, social and physical development for our local children. SMYS also remained committed to the promotion of teamwork, sportsmanship and volunteerism among our players, families and the community. This vision has helped us grow year after year and has provided many fun and educational times for everyone involved in our program.
Today, our vision for San Marcos Youth Soccer continues to grow leading us to the next phase in the life of our program. We are becoming City SC San Marcos. Our partnership with City SC will allow us to incorporate the best of all of our programs, while still remaining autonomous, so we can provide more opportunities for all our players and volunteers. As City SC San Marcos, we will have access to additional tools, resources and player development programs so that each child will be able to excel based upon individual determination and all of it located within our San Marcos and neighboring community.
City SC is the culmination of almost 40 years of youth soccer history in North County. It started out as Carlsbad Wave FC and Carlsbad Lightning SC in 1981 until the clubs merged to form Carlsbad United in 2013. The club joined the LA Galaxy alliance program as LA Galaxy San Diego and competed in the prestigious boys and girls US Soccer Development Academies. In 2020 the club rebranded as City SC. City SC is North San Diego County's only member of the MLS youth academy and the GA (Girls Academy). City SC is also the only club in San Diego County with a direct pathway to professional soccer through our partnership with Real Salt Lake (MLS) and the Utah Royals (NWSL).
We welcome you to our new home. We welcome you to City SC San Marcos!

Dear San Marcos Youth Soccer and Revolution Members
SMYS is suspending all programs and competition activities effective immediately and will remain closed in accordance with Federal, Sate and local authorities. This suspension comes as a result of the propagation of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it is taken with extreme concern and interest in the health and safety of our entire community. The suspension covers all SMYS Recreation and Revolution Competitive events including, but not limited to, Arena Soccer, State Cup, National Cup, California Regional League, and supporting practices.
SMYS in alignment with our governing bodies is closely monitoring national and state organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the California Department of Public Health, the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer and the United States Adult Soccer Association, State of California, San Marcos City and San Marcos School District. Thus, SMYS may extend this suspension, depending on the facts and recommendations not available at this time.
We will continue to evaluate the circumstances associated with COVID-19 and update our status to members as conditions change and will communicate updates on our website, social media channels and via email. Please check our website at: https://www.smys.org and http://www.sanmarcosrevolution.org for continued updates and information related to the Coronavirus throughout this period.
The safety of our community is our main priority and we believe that suspending all activity through April 17th gives us adequate time to examine all the recommendations and advisories before making further decisions.
Everyone sees the play differently.
The main goal of the referee is to make the game safe and fun for the children.
Being a referee is not as easy as it appears. They are a another coach on the field for small sided games.
Remember, many referees are brothers and sisters of soccer players or soccer players themselves. Others are fellow parents trying to just help youth soccer players have FUN!
Recognize that the referee is doing his/her best. It may not be what you saw, but the goal is to let the game be played so that children can have FUN!.
Referees deserve respect and support too!
Helping the referee to call the trip or a foul only confuses children.
Disagreeing hurts you child's respect for the referee, and may hurt the view of the referee towards your child's team.
Criticism causes referees to quit rather than become better. Many referees quit due to being yelled at by parents.
As you cheer for the players, cheer for the referees too.
