We are excited to start the season and want to let you know that rosters have been released to the coaches. Coaches should be contacting you over the next couple of days.
Practices should start after the 6th, and your coach will set the schedule for the practices. Game schedules will be out the week of the 13th of August; games start on the 25th for U14 and younger. Except for a break for Labor Day, games will run every Saturday and will be held at Walnut Grove North. There will be no games for the u8 and youngers on picture day, September 8th.
We are having an open meeting on the 9th of August at the Civic Center from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm to provide a summary of the upcoming season and to answer any questions you may have. We are inviting all team management (coaches, asst coaches and team managers) as well as you the parents. Please come out and meet us.
As you know already our program is run by volunteers, and we need your help. We need field crew to help with setting up the fields and tearing them down on Saturdays. We are in critical need of referees and will train and pay volunteers. Teams from U9 to u14 will be asked to provide 1 referee to cover 5 games. The simple truth is that we cannot run this program without help. Please help us, help your kids.
For those that signed up for the training on the 4th we do apologize for any inconvenience, but we did not have enough people sign up and are consolidating the August 4th and 11th training dates onto August 11th. Our current referee schedule is as follows:
August 11 – 9:00 am - 12:30 pm, Session 1
August 11 - 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm, Session 2
August 13 - 5:30 pm -9:00 pm, Session 1
August 15 - 5:30 pm -9:00 pm, Session 2
You’ll need to attend both a session 1 and session 2 in that order, and then pass a test given at the end of session 2. All training will be held at the Sports Barn at Walnut Grove Park.
We are excited to bring you another season of session plans from our partner YouthSoccer101. The links below are for the first week practices for the different age groups.
Please keep in mind that these are suggestions for practices and your coach may follow them or just take parts of them.
Each plan has instructional videos to go along with the main session so even if your coach sees a different need for your team, there may be something you can share with your child.
